Baptism

Families requesting baptism at Seton Parish must be registered members.

Parents wishing to have a child baptized are asked to attend the Baptism Preparation program. Classes are held the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Formation Center. Please register by calling the parish office. In order not to interfere with child birth classes, please register at least three months prior to birth. If you wish to attend after the child is born, please make arrangements for baby sitting.

Baptisms are celebrated the first 3 Sundays of each month, either during Mass or at a 12:30 p.m. Baptism service. We limit the number of baptisms to four at the 12:30 p.m. service. Note: Baptisms are not celebrated during the Lenten season, as this is a time of preparation for the entire church to renew its baptismal commitment at Easter and to join the catechumens in their preparation for the sacraments of initiation.

Both Godparents are to be practicing Catholics in good standing with the church, at least 16 years of age, confirmed, and if married, married by a priest or, with permission of the bishop, a minister. If the Godparent is not a member of our parish, they need to obtain a sponsor certificate (letter of eligibility) from their parish. A practicing, baptized member of another Christian church may act as a Christian Witness in place of one of the Catholic Godparents.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturdays at 4:15 p.m.. The doors to the Daily Mass Chapel are open at that time and the Chapels of Reconciliation are off the hallway leading to the Meditation Walkway. You may always call to make an appointment for this sacrament.

Lenten Schedule
Sunday, March 16th at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's church in Middletown. (Service)

Marriage

Couples planning marriage at Seton Parish are to contact one of the priests at least one year prior to the wedding. The diocesan Marriage Policy involves Pre-Cana or Engaged Encounter, meetings with the priest or deacon, and sessions with married couples.

Anointing of the Sick

Anyone seriously ill or facing surgery is invited to celebrate this sacrament. Please call the parish office for an appointment.
